Bad with the Good

Well I have always made my boys Birthday cakes.  You may have seen some of the pictures from other cakes I have made from a previous post.  Well with my oldest turning 11 I had this great idea in my head...for sports.  Well needless to say the cake had a mind of its own...
The cake split in the pan, so I was trying to fix it and piece it back together. Well let's just say I was so disappointed in it I shoved it down the garbage disposal.  So at 7pm the night before his birthday I go buy more cake mix and icing and had to change my plans, even the cake pans.

This was the final product and he LOVED it.
I may not have been happy with the turnout but he was
thrilled and that was all that mattered...HE LOVED IT!

Birthday Boy

Today is my oldest son's birthday, he is 11.  The day before he was born, Tuesday, Aug. 24th the doctor said...oh you are ready, you go home and walk and I will see you at the hospital for sure.  Well, my doctor was amazing, he was right!!  I went over to my best friends house, Jody and we walked around her block several times.  I finally went back home and waited for Brent to get home from work (he worked 2nd shift).  Well needless to say, we went to the hospital and at 10:29AM on Aug. 25th our beautiful little boy was born.  We were blessed with a healthy, happy, blond hair, blue eyed little boy.

Another Shell Project

Here is another project I made with some of the shells.  My hubby painted the frame for me then I glued the shells on.  I put a picture of my family with my brother.  The place in the background is one of the piers we ate at....and fished at where my oldes caught a mackeral fish.

Shells Shells and More Shells

After my family trip to Anna Maria Island in Florida, we had lots of shells we collected from the gulf. My oldest son and I went out at 6:30 AM one morning and found LOADS of shells. On the plane ride home, using my gypsy (of course) working on my layouts from our vacation, I thought about what could I do with all those shells. Well I decided to make my own wind chime from some of the shells we found.

Bowl full of shells
I had to drill holes in the shells to be able to
feed the fishing line through them.
I also wanted to give a little color to some of the shells, so
I spray painted a few of them blue.  Not completely,
just a couple of swipes.
Then I took a few of the shells and cut out vinyl using
Summer Vacation for the "BEACH"
Here is the finished project.  I added some gold beads I had also
from my grandma's crafts stuff.

Scrapbook Area Organized

Well it is nothing fancy, but I have my little scrap area finally all organized. I liked the cubicles I found.  Back to school time is always a great time to find things to organize your areas.  My before picture is down below in another post.  Thanks for looking....Enjoy your own little or BIG scrap areas!

Loved It!

My grandpa loved his gift...loved it so much, it made him cry, then it made me cry. This man is an awesome man in my eyes and I was glad I could make something for him that touched both of us.
